Every child and young person knew they were loved by God, and the people who attended the churches around them? Had at least one friend, and a caring adult mentor who wants the best for them? Were invited to attend age-appropriate programs at Alief’s churches and outreach programs, which helped them grow into the people God gave them life to become? Our AISD teachers and staff felt supported and encouraged by our community? Our community earned a reputation as being a “great place” to be a teacher?
· There were regular prayer teams, for every school, their students, teachers, and staff ?
· More local churches and volunteers provided more care for their local schools, through service projects, mentors, meeting special needs, and serving where requested?
· More opportunities were accepted to share the Good News of God’s love, promises, and hope.
· More schools saw our local churches and ministries as allies and friends, rather than people to guard against?
· More families needing help, could be pointed to our local churches, who are ready to help serve their needs?
· More of Alief’s children and youth could participate in field trips and experiences that broadened their understanding of our larger world and many diverse cultures.
Like our teachers, youth pastors, youth workers, and volunteers need encouragement and support. A healthy local network can:
· Pray together for each other.
· Build trusting relationships as teammates, not competitors.
· Share resources where needed and available.
· Develop strategies in working together, to help more of Alief’s children and youth.
· This year (Oct 2022) AISD’s total enrollment dropped to 40,329. Down from the last two years.
· Over 80% of our students are at risk of dropping out of school.
· There are over twice as many churches and ministries in Alief, as there are schools.
